Samaria Gorge tickets: official admission steps

Check access, then the official ticket

The checked NECCA individual park fee is €10. The same entrance fee applies to the full route or a few kilometres. Transport is separate. Reduced and free categories need their stated proof.

  1. Read the current entrance notice.
  2. Choose the official category and check its evidence.
  3. Retain the ticket and entry slip for the exit control.

Official NECCA entry and ticket information

NECCA Entrance Tickets panel checked 15 October 2026. This guide has no checkout. A listed fee does not confirm entry.

Samaria Gorge tickets are sold through NECCA's official portal and, when entry is allowed, at the two park entrances. The checked single-person fee is €10. A ticket covers park entry, not the ferry or road return. Check the current access notice before paying for any part of the day.

NECCA's Entrance Tickets panel lists the single-person ticket at €10 and separate reduced or free types with proof rules. The fee is the same for a full walk or a few kilometres. Keep your entry evidence for the exit check. The last observed notice closes both entrances pending inspections, so a price table does not grant entry.

Samaria Gorge tickets and the current entry check

Facts checked: 15 October 2026. The official NECCA ticket portal reported both entrances closed until further notice, pending inspections. It gave no reopening date. Read its latest notice before making a payment or leaving your base.

Use the portal's Entrance Tickets panel for the fee rules. The standard single-person price shown there is €10. Its family category lists €6 per qualifying family member, while the annual single-person ticket is €25. These are park types, not package prices for the whole trip.

The checked NECCA panel lists these park fees. Use the full category rules and proof requirements before choosing one.

Park ticket type Checked fee Important limit
Individual €10 Park entry only
Family €6 per qualifying member Read the family rule alongside free-entry exemptions
Annual individual €25 Carry the required identity evidence

These figures come from NECCA's Entrance Tickets panel, not an empty cart or a tour's old price paragraph. A free or reduced category still needs its stated evidence.

Reduced types and proof

NECCA lists free entry for children under 18 and adults over 65 with an ID or passport. Other types have their own evidence rules, including certain students, residents and people with disabilities. Read the full current list rather than assume a discount from your age or home country alone.

The group rate is not a discount for a group of friends. It is for certain clubs or groups. They must send their member list and club papers in advance. Ask NECCA about an unclear case instead of choosing that category on the strength of a head count.

Carry the evidence for the category you use. A reduced price on a screen does not remove the proof rule at the park. If your case is unclear, settle it with the park body before payment.

Where to buy and what to keep

The same official panel says tickets may be bought online or on arrival at Xyloskalo or Agia Roumeli. That describes the sales routes when access is permitted. It does not guarantee a future date or override a closure notice on the checkout.

Keep the entry ticket, proof papers and the extra entry slip issued for the exit check. NECCA explains that these checks help count who enters and leaves. Do not discard the slip during the walk or hand it to someone else in your group to leave with first.

For a visit that is allowed, keep the purchase and entry tasks in order:

  1. Read the current access notice for the intended entrance and date.
  2. Choose the ticket category from the official rules and check its proof.
  3. Check the selected date and names before paying through the stated sales route.
  4. Carry the ticket and evidence, then retain the entry slip for the exit check.

Samaria Gorge tickets do not include the return

Park entry is separate from transport unless the actual tour terms clearly bundle it. A ferry ticket and a bus seat are different payments. Check each leg for the same date and direction, including the road trip after the boat.

Use the hike plan to keep the whole day together. Read the weather guide for the mountain and coast checks. Neither a forecast nor an operator's sale page proves the park is open.

Ticket questions

Is a short visit cheaper?

NECCA's checked fee panel says the entrance fee is the same for the whole route or only a few kilometres. A southern partial walk does not create a separate cheap park ticket. Confirm the route is allowed first, then use the current ticket type and proof rules that apply to you.

Does a tour price include entry?

Only if the exact supplier's terms say so. Some excursions state park entry and the boat as extra costs. Ask for an full total and how those tickets are issued. A guide collecting the money does not by itself mean the fees were included in the amount you already paid.

Verdict on Samaria Gorge tickets

Buy Samaria Gorge tickets through a stated official sales route after checking access. Use the right category with its proof, and keep the exit slip. Budget for the ferry and road legs as extra costs unless your actual package clearly includes them.
